Fry Follow-Up

To be fair, I like WingStop's fries -- on occasion. I can't have 'em all the time, but they make a good diversion every now and then. (Nik, I think there must be something wrong with your digestive tract. But, then again, I have a cast-iron stomach, as you know from watching me order at Freebirds.)

Burger King's fries are better than McDonald's, but theirs is definitely toward the bottom of the list. Along with Jack-In-The-Box's fries (prepared the same way), they would get a C- at best. The McDonald's fries would get an F outright.

Snuffer's, Snookies, BJ's... all superior. My favorite fries in the D/FW area would have to be served at Buck N' Loon's in South Arlington.

Any other locals care to chime in?

Unclear On The Concept, Part 14

Here's a tip for people who are either just learning how to drink in public, or are a little hazy on the whole process of how to go to your favorite bar / tavern:

When you're getting good drink prices from a particular bartender, that means the bartender appreciates your business. Enjoy it. Thank Bacchus you've gotten in good with a Pour Master / Mistress.

However, when you're at the same bar and another bartender does not extend you the same courtesy, do not bitch about it. Do not tell the bartender, "Well, every other time I come here, I get $2 drinks instead of paying full price."

And under no circumstances, at any time, do you bitch about paying full price to the manager. The manager already knows you are getting star treatment -- trust me, they know a lot more about what goes on behind the bar than they're given credit for. All you are doing by bitching about the drink prices are getting your red carpet yanked out from under you, and probably getting the bartender in question in trouble, if not fired outright.

One would think this isn't a necessary message, but last night's festivities proved otherwise. Asshats.
