Blogathon 2005 is bearing down on us like a freight train full of anvils. The preparations are in full swing, and my Blogathon mini-site is up and running.
There will be quite a few twists and turns to this year's 'thon on my end. Things are afoot. Special guests. Unique (and I REALLY do mean unique) giveaways for people who pledge. The content will be top-notch, as long as I can stay awake. And the location where I'll be doing this from... well, let's just say it won't be happening from my living room this year.
Speaking of pledging, Jesus Christ. You people rock! There's already been $168 pledged to the Tarrant County chapter of the American Cancer Society. That equals my entire pledge total from 2003.
So I'm going to up the ante just a hair.
I'm asking for you, the avid SwampLog reader, to help us raise $1000 for the ACS. We're already 1/6 of the way there, and I know that you guys can make this happen. I've already spelled out why this is such an important cause for me, and if you have any friends or relatives that have faced cancer, you know what a fantastic organization the ACS can be.
Start giving. The fun starts Saturday, 5 August, at 9:00 am EST. That's 6:00 am PST. (There's your clue.)
